Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Scotts Bluff National Monument on the day it was established! What 100th anniversary would be complete without cake?! Join us for a piece of history! Special commemorative centennial merchandise will be available for purchase----just in time for Christmas! The evening will start with local elected officials declaring a celebration to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Scotts Bluff National Monument and remarks by Superintendent Dan Morford. Winners of the first ever Photo Contest will be announced, as well as another special announcement. Following that, Chief Ranger Justin Cawiezel will present a historical program about Scotts Bluff National Monument. There will be numerous historical displays to view including a copy of the original Presidential Proclamation signed by President Woodrow Wilson establishing the park, the petition sent to the government by local leaders requesting to create Scotts Bluff National Monument, and historical photos of the Visitor Center. The Oregon Trail Days Quilt Show centennial challenge projects will also be on display.
