The 2024 Old West Balloon Fest Art Exhibit highlights the artistic value of regional artwork and its connection to the Panhandle through celebrations. The contest was open to all in the Panhandle Valley. All styles and techniques which may include photographs & artwork of hot air balloons were accepted. It’s a judged exhibit at the West Nebraska Arts Center. The exhibit’s opening day was July 3rd, with a reception on July 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. It will remain open in the Bronson Gallery through August 28, 2024. In the Bronson Gallery we will also be displaying Elder Art Program artwork from this past year and the Veterans Program Artwork also from earlier in the year. Our judge this year was Lauri Matisse. She is an author, artist and architect. She also is the owner of the Moo Gallery in Scottsbluff, NE. We are thrilled that she could choose the awardees for this year’s Old West Balloon Fest Show. Congratulations to Jo Haslow for receiving Best of Show in the Adult division with “Night Glow”. And congratulations to Aspen Haslow for receiving Best of Show in the Youth division with “The Red Balloon”. The show can be viewed through Sunday, August 28th. Visit the gallery Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Closed Mondays. Gallery admission is FREE and open to the public.
