The West Nebraska Arts Center, with the support of the Bob & Sue VanNewkirk, Mike and JaCee Petko, the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and the National Endowment for the Arts is pleased to present Amalgamation by Michele Denton. The reception is on Saturday, October 18th, 2pm – 4pm. This is a free event and open to the public. This reception will have live music provided by Jay and Amanda Music. Refreshments and appetizers will be served for all who attend. Michele Denton will be sharing a variety of art she has put together in her new mode of creation. She has always been a phenomenal artist in our area, and she is sharing with us the ways in which she has had to grow with life. Amalgamation will display painted, collage, assembled, and reimagined items. Denton is allowing us to see a world only she could have come up with. Denton has been in our community for over 40 years. She has been part of the Art Center ever since she moved from Omaha with her husband. She lives in Mitchell, Ne where she raised her three children and focused on an art career. During that time, she also worked at Tallmon’s Jewelry Store, made displays for the Mitchell High School, volunteered at the West Nebraska Arts Center and helped run an art collaborative in Mitchell. For the last seven years she has been the Executive Director of the West Nebraska Arts Center.
