DESCRIPTION:It's time for a check-up!  The Riverside Discovery Center will be hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic.  During this event children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the Discovery Center to give it a "Check-up".\n\n\n\n"This event will be fun for children of all ages\," says Amber Schiltz\, education curator.  "Young visitors will learn what it means to get a medical check-up.  They will have the chance to assess the health of their stuffed animal's eyes\, ears and even give them a band-aid or wrap their paws."\n\n\n\nUNMC Nursing Students will be helping check the teddy bears at different stations in the zoo.  "This event is perfect for children who love their stuffed toys and are interested in medicine\," says Amber.  "We are so excited to have nursing students come to help give the check-ups\, so that our young visitors become more comfortable when they have to visit the doctor themselves."  So\, come have fun and give your favorite plush toy a needed check-up.
