First State Bank
First State Bank was officially chartered September 12, 1935. On October 8th, we opened at the corner of 16th Street and 1st Avenue in Scottsbluff. In July of 1981, we found our current home at the corner of 20th and Broadway. We purchased The Bank of Gering in October of 1986 creating a convenient second location.
The 21st century arrived and we once again outgrew our surroundings. We expanded our facility and added Classic One Insurance to the company in an effort to better serve our customers. In April 2004 we merged First State Bank, Colorado Springs, Colorado, a bank we have owned since 1995, into the Scottsbluff bank.
First State Bank is a full-service financial institution. Our services include checking, savings, and CD accounts with the convenience of online banking and mobile banking. In addition, we offer a variety of loan products and investment programs. With the additions of Classic One Insurance we are able to offer insurance services to our customers as well.
Through long-term customer relationships and referrals, and with the support of knowledgeable personnel, First State Bank has grown from assets of $100,000 in 1935 to more than $239,000,000 as of December 31, 2012. First State Bank has the distinction of being the oldest locally owned and operated bank in the Panhandle of Nebraska. We have the strength and stability to serve all your needs today, tomorrow, and in the future!
