With the support the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, West Nebraska Arts Center is pleased to present a new workshop titled “Material Girl – a focus on materials usage” for ages 16 and up.
Under the instruction of Traci Wilkes, this 5 – one hour sessions will be held in the downstairs classroom at WNAC on Wednesdays, September 7, 14, 21, 28, & October, 5, 2016, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“Before the snow flies and its dark at 5pm, build your repertoire of techniques and jump start your creativity for winter. I’m an energetic speaker and love to share what I know. Please join me in these five sessions that focus on materials usage-the mediums and the substrates and tools. I can’t wait to share what I have learned while we have fun. Oh… and just because that is how I roll, you will get freebies as well-which makes the sessions even more fun. “–Traci Wilkes.
During Material Girl Classes we will try a medium/technique/substrate, try it again, try it in another way, and maybe even one more way. Unique to these sessions is that instead of learning one thing and creating one piece dictated by someone else, you will be creating multiples of the same technique in each class. You can see what works better for you, and delight in your own creative skills. Session 1 – Image Transfer, Session 2 – Oil Pastels & Cold Wax. Session 3 – Dirty Watercolor and Ink Drawing, Session 4 – Texture with Pastes & Stencils, Sessions 5 – Yupo Paper & Inks.
