WNAC mini-fundraiser to end summer exhibit schedule
Scottsbluff, Nebraska -8/26/16- The West Nebraska Arts Center, with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, is pleased to present the End of Summer Art Sale, a fundraiser to benefit WNAC, opening in the Bronson Gallery on Thursday, Sept. 1st, with a reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome!
We are bringing out all of the artwork that has been donated to WNAC over the years to create an eclectic exhibit for the community to enjoy. You never know what you might find. Artwork will be PRICED to SELL and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the WNAC Building Improvement Fund to help us continue our renovation projects.
“You would be amazed at how much art we have stored around the Arts Center that has been left or donated to us over the years. There will be a few surprises for sure! This exhibit is a way to bring it all out and give the public a chance to purchase some interesting pieces and to make money for the Arts Center. All money raised from the sale will be used in future projects in and outside of the building. Established in 1967, we are located on the corner of 18th Street and 1st Avenue in the old Carnegie Library building that was originally built in 1921. As time goes on, we will continue to do necessary maintenance and updates to keep the building in as good a shape as possible, says Executive Director, Donna Thompson.
“The support of the community and the sales of this exhibit are so important to us. In just the last few years alone some of the projects we have completed are painting and replacing carpet and tile throughout the building, painting the outside trim around entire building, replacing entry way doors, completely remodeling the kitchen/classroom and downstairs bathrooms, renovating the Little Theater and opening up the new Bronson Gallery space, and much more. All of this would not be possible without the generosity of donors like Oregon Trail Community Foundation, who has supported in some part almost all of the projects to date, but it also our member contributions, gallery sales, and sponsors that have contributed to our success!”
“We are proud to be a vital part of a thriving arts community in the Panhandle, and our dedicated staff and volunteers strive to make it a lively and inviting public venue for artists to share their talents. Our programming now includes 18 gallery exhibits each year, a 7-month After-School Art Program, on-going studio art classes for adults and youth, two summer Art Camps, and many other special events.”
The End of Summer Art Sale will be open Sept. 1 - 25. NOTE: WNAC will be open for during our regular business hours for Labor Day weekend.
