The UNMC College of Nursing along with Nebraska Panhandle Area Health Education Center (NP-AHEC) and Chamber of Commerce business after hours are hosting a health fair.
This event is open to all ages, free to the public and provided by the UNMC nursing students. Screenings include: blood pressure, lung capacity, body composition, blood glucose, blood testing (for a fee of $25-45) and oral screenings from the UNMC Dental Hygiene students. Flu shots will be available for $30.00 and can be billed to Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. Massages will be provided for $1.00 per minute.
Educational handouts, games, and prizes will be available along with appetizers and refreshments. Topics include diabetes, back injury prevention, smoking cessation, COPD, mental health, and many more!
Dogs will be on site for stress relief and may pose an issue for those with allergies.
Please consider bringing a pack of diapers to donate to the diaper drive sponsored by the Student Nurses for parents in need. We look forward to seeing you there!
