American Solar Car Challenge Seeking Energy Themed Projects
The American Solar Car Challenge Committee is seeking businesses or individuals with solar or energy themed projects to be on display for an expo at the Legacy of the Plains Museum on August 5, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The purpose of the expo is to exhibit projects that show how the use of energy has improved over the years in our area. The Expo is intended to be a co-event with the American Solar Car Challenge which is a collegiate competition that will bring 10 International teams and 20 American teams to the area as they advance on their 1,975 mile route demonstrating how solar cars maneuver under real world driving conditions. See the event website for more information at http://americansolarchallenge.org/the-competition/ascfsgp-2016
As one of the stops on the challenge route, Gering/Scottsbluff supporters have the opportunity to host an expo that welcomes the drivers and crews to the area. The expo is an excellent opportunity to show solar projects in our community. Businesses are also welcome to set up displays to show advancement in solar technology on products available to the public. For more information on how you can be involved with the challenge or set-up a booth for the expo, please contact Terry Rajewich at 308-630-5418 or Kristen Wiebe at 308-635-6714.
